Marwen Abouda was born and lives in Tunis.

Set designer, musician, performer and teacher.

 

Co-founder of the musical ensemble Wajd in 2012 and of the urban and digital art collective DataGraff in 2017.

​

Marwen Abouda grew up in the world of Sufi sounds and chants and dabbled in the art of singing and percussion before graduating in design and scenography and becoming a technologist at the École supérieure des sciences et technologies du design in Tunis.

​

He is an artist who combines different fields. He explores space, perception and emotions in a curious and innovative way. To do this, he uses unusual artistic contexts in which the body, the voice and video scenography play a role and tell a multi-sensory story.

Through exchanges with other artists, he has taken part in various multidisciplinary artistic projects. He likes to integrate form, body, voice, sound and video scenography into his work and make it a unity.

So far, he has worked on various multidisciplinary artistic projects with directors, singers, dancers, actors, musicians, painters, graffiti artists and composers in Tunis, Stuttgart, Darmstadt, Paris, Beirout...  You are cordially invited to find out more about his projects in his portfolio.
